In 1988, President Ronald Regan signed a congressional resolution that declared the first week of May to be named Drinking Water Week. This year, Drinking Water Week will be observed between May 6th and May 12th. The Pure Water Joy organization will be celebrating the week by facilitating several fundraising activities in multiple cities across the front range to support our clean drinking water goals in Tanzania. Pure Water Joy’s aims to raise at least $2000 during the iconic week. We invite the public to join us at an event near them! A schedule of the week’s events can be found below.
Drinking Water Week Fundraising Activities
May 6th-12th: Book an escape room experience with Sly Fox Escape Rooms in Colorado Springs! Sly Fox Escape Rooms will generously donate back 20% of their proceeds during Drinking Water Week to Pure Water Joy. May 6th: Tune in to the Charlie Milo Program to watch a live podcast with Charlie Milo, a Colorado Springs musician who will be interviewing Leah Fenimore, the co-founder of Pure Water Joy about the significance of Drinking Water Week and Pure Water Joy’s work in Tanzania. May 10th: Enjoy a slice of pizza for a good cause! During opening hours from 11 AM- 9 PM, Beau Jo’s Pizza in Fort Collins will generously donate back 20% of your order to Pure Water Joy. Download the promotional flyer from Pure Water Joy’s website to show your server when you order!
May 11th: Enjoy a meal for a good cause! From 4 PM – 9PM, Native Foods Café in Glendale will generously donate back 20% of your order to Pure Water Joy. Mention Pure Water Joy at the counter for your order to go towards providing clean drinking water to rural areas in Tanzania.
May 12th: Pure Water Joy will conclude its celebration of clean water week with a benefit concert in Manitou Springs! The Ancient Mariner is generously donating back 10% of food and drink purchases to Pure Water Joy and four locally popular acts take to the stage to perform for clean drinking water in Tanzania. Admission is free, but donations to the Pure Water Joy organization tip jar are encouraged. Live music will begin at 8 PM and conclude at 1 AM. The band lineup can be found below.
